To the man who gave me everything

This Father’s Day, I found myself facing a real conundrum – what do you get for the man who has everything, and has given you the world?

What can I say about my dad? I could talk about how kind and caring he is, or how successful he was as a businessman, or what a great pops he is to my children. I could try to express how much I appreciate everything he has done for me and my family, or how he inspires me to always try to achieve more in life. In the end, though, I think the thing I appreciate the most is just how easy he is to talk to.

Growing up, I remember so many discussions around the dinner table. From sports, to news and current events, to in-depth business discussions about the inner workings of my parents’ company. Even though I was, realistically, completely clueless, my dad always took the time to seriously consider my opinions and share his reasoning with me.

This is something I have grown to cherish over the years, and something that I try to emulate in conversations with my own kids. I have learned so much about business, family, and life in general from these “chats” with my dad, all thanks to his easy willingness to share his wisdom and discuss ideas.

Talking to my dad has always been easy for me, and for many others I’ve spoken to. If you chatted with him casually, you would never guess that he started his own company, and piloted it to a 100+ employee pillar of the insuretech industry. He has somehow managed to stay humble, easy-going, and “real” in a way that I can only hope to emulate.

And so, this brings me back to my original challenge – What do you get for the man who has everything, and has given you the world?

That’s where this blog comes in – a place for him to share his thoughts, wisdom, and ideas. I hope that this can become an outlet for him to express himself in whatever way he wants, and I believe that all of us will be so much the richer for it.

Thank you for everything, dad, I hope that this site can be useful to you. Happy father’s day!
